The Hunger and Homelessness Program’s direct service opportunities include:

  • Food Rescue: Rescues leftover food from Wesleyan’s dinning halls and delivers them to a local temporary housing shelter.
  • Bread Salvage: Picks ups hundreds of leftover loaves of bread from a local bakery and delivers them weekly to three Middletown elementary schools for families to pick them up for free.
  • Amazing Grace Food Pantry Program: Partners with the local food pantry in many different activities, from healthy cooking classes with pantry ingredients to soup kitchen volunteering.
  • Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter: Partners with the Middlesex County Habitat for Humanity on builds, renovations, and Restore volunteering.
