Food Rescue

The Food Rescue Program (formerly Food Salvage) picks up left-over food from Wesleyan dinning halls and restaurants and delivers it to the Middlesex County Eddy Shelter in Middletown. Shifts run regularly 13 times a week, every week. Students rescue food from Pi Cafe, Usdan and Summerfields. The program also hosts dinners at the shelter so students can interact and socialize with Eddy’s residents.

Get involved

Student volunteers are expected to commit to one regular shift every week. The shifts run no longer than 30 minutes. There are two students per shift– one driver and one volunteer. To get involved, contact the coordinators.
